What we know so far
Stubai / Salewa are recalling several batches of ring pitons / V-ring pitons. According to the official information, these pitons can have a breaking load lower than the rating. Root cause of the the issue seems to be badly welded rings (hence only pitons with a welded ring are affected).

Stubai 957015S (Salewa arty. 417): Ring piton diagonal, impact length 125 mm, hardened steel
With the batch numbers: 04/1, 10/1, 11/1, 13/1, 15/1, 17/1 -
Ring piton, unhardened:
Stubai art. 957013: Ring piton diagonal, impact length 95 mm, galvanised, soft metal
Stubai art. 957015: Ring piton diagonal, impact length 125 mm, galvanised, soft metal
With the batch numbers: 04/1, 10/1, 11/1, 13/1, 15/1, 17/1 -
V-ring piton
Stubai art. 958016 9 (Salewas art. 419): V-ring piton 140mm
With the batch numbers: 1-04, 1-10, 1-11, 1-13, 1-15, 1-17
